Ten Things You May Not Know About Anger

By Kevin Burk

1. If you believe you don’t have a problem with anger because you never get angry, you have a BIG problem with anger.

People that never get angry haven’t mastered their anger: they’ve turned down the volume on their feelings. This is understandable. Most people appreciate that acting from anger is never the answer, but because they don’t know how to use the energy of their anger in constructive ways, they learn how to suppress it. The problem is that you can’t just suppress the negative feelings. Turning down the volume doesn’t stop the pain; it just lets you ignore it, and while you’re ignoring it, things continue to get worse.

2. If you don’t feel angry, you can’t feel happy.

You can’t just turn down the volume on the negative, painful emotions. When you turn down the volume on your anger, you also turn down the volume on your happiness. And the more you suppress these feelings, and let other people steal your energy, the less happy you will become. And the worst part is that over time, you’ll forget that life could be any different than it is. Even the possibility of happiness won’t be a part of your reality anymore. Happiness is a feeling, and in order to be able to feel happy, you have to be willing to feel the unpleasant feelings, if only so that you can learn how to properly avoid them.

3Anger Mastery. There is a world of difference between “anger management” and Anger Mastery

As popular as “anger management” is, it doesn’t do very much. When you manage your anger, you still experience it in painful, negative ways. The purpose of anger management is to teach you how to keep your anger to yourself, so it doesn’t bother other people. Anger management doesn’t help you to take back your power, it doesn’t help you to move out of Victim Consciousness. But most importantly, managing your anger won’t help you to get happy.

And besides—anyone who’s ever worked in an office knows first-hand that “management” is a colossal waste of time and energy.

When you master your anger, however, you take back your power. You’re no longer at the mercy of your anger. In fact, when you master your anger, you make anger your bitch. The surface results are the same as with anger management—others see you as nicer, less aggressive, and less prone to inappropriate expressions of frustration and rage. That’s all on the outside. On the inside, you’re no longer miserable. You feel empowered, you feel energized, and you feel infinitely happier than you did before.

4. Anger is a powerful source of energy; it’s not inherently bad, negative or destructive.

Anger is like fire. When it’s unchecked and undirected, it can be dangerous and destructive. However, when you master it, there’s no limit to its uses and benefits. The problem is that in our culture, we only recognize the negative, destructive aspects of anger, and as a result, anger has a very bad reputation.

5. Just because something is real, doesn’t mean it’s true.

The thing to remember about reality is that reality is completely subjective. No matter what you experience, it always feels real to you. When you’re dreaming, the dream is completely real. When you wake up, that feels completely real. You can’t compare two experiences and say that one feels more real than the other. Reality is subjective, because your experience of reality is defined by what you’re experiencing at any given moment.

This means there must be two types of reality. There’s the “little r” reality, which includes everything that exists in your world. And then there’s the “Big R” Reality, which includes everything that exists, period. Your “little r” reality is a very, very, very small part of the “Big R” Reality.

The “Big R” Reality includes things like war and famine. I know that these things exist in the world; however, they don’t exist in my world. They’re not a part of my “little r” reality.

Happiness also exists in the “Big R” Reality. If happiness isn’t currently a part of your “little r” reality, then all you need to do is to change your “little r” reality, so you’re experiencing the part of the “Big R” Reality that includes happiness.

The Anger Mastery Process shows you how to do this.

6. Anger is its own “little r” reality.

One of the things that I introduce in Anger Mastery is the Map of Consciousness created by Dr. David R. Hawkins. Each point on this map represents a specific vibration and frequency, and each frequency is its own “little r” reality that is made up of the kinds of experiences and feelings that are a match to that particular frequency. Anger is a specific level of consciousness that calibrates at 150.

Think of it this way: when you tune a radio to a Country music station, all you ever hear is Country music. You’ll never hear any Rock music, or Classical music as long as you’re tuned to that frequency. When your consciousness is tuned to the vibration of Anger, that’s all you’ll ever feel. Your entire “little r” reality will be filled with experiences that seem to cause you to be angry. The truth, however, is that when you vibrate at the frequency of Anger, you feel angry, and because of that, you attract experiences that are a match to that vibration.

If you don’t like Country music, the only way to change that is to tune to a different station. If you don’t like feeling Angry, you need to tune to a different “little r” reality.

7. Happiness isn’t a song; happiness is a radio station.

In the introductory video at http://www.GetAngryGetHappy.com, I use the metaphor of a radio. While the radio is capable of tuning to any specific frequency, it can only tune to one frequency at a time (your “little r” reality). If you tune to a Country music station, your “little r” reality will be filled with Country music. How happy you are with this depends on how much you enjoy Country music. But whether you enjoy Country music or not, you will never hear any rock music as long as you’re tuned to a Country music station.

Most people think of happiness as a specific song. When that song plays, they’re happy…until it stops. You can listen to the song again, but the more you listen to the song, the less happy it makes you.

Happiness isn’t a song; it’s a radio station. When you tune to the frequency of “Happiness” no matter what song plays, it will make you feel happy.

In other words, if you’re not happy, it’s because you’re focused on a “little r” reality that doesn’t support happiness. You can get angry about this (and that’s the first step to becoming happy), but there’s no action you can take within your “little r” reality that will make things any better. You have to raise the vibration of your consciousness, and tune to a different “little r” reality—and keep doing this until you are completely happy.

This is what the Anger Mastery Process teaches you to do.

8. No matter what makes you angry, it’s none of your business.

Anger is part of a band of consciousness known as Victim Consciousness. There’s nothing wrong with Victim Consciousness: 85% of the world lives there full time, and the rest of us have vacation homes there. There are two important things to know about Victim Consciousness, however. First, once you go there, it’s very difficult to get out again. And Second, at best, you’re only looking at about a 22% rate of happiness (and most of the time, you’re only looking at a 12% rate of happiness).

Byron Katie says that there are three types of business in the world: “My Business,” “Other People’s Business,” and “God’s Business.” Anytime you step out of “My Business” you give up all of your power and dive into Victim Consciousness. This means that anytime you’re feeling Anger, you’re in someone else’s business.

When you realize this, you can play the game, “Whose Business Is It?” and drop the story that’s making you angry. To see how the game is played, you can watch an episode of the game show Whose Business Is It? at http://www.GetAngryGetHappy.com.

9. Anger is your wake-up call. It lets you know you’re unhappy and helps you to become happy.

Anger is both an emotion, and a level of consciousness that calibrates at 150. Anything that calibrates below 200 is a part of First Kingdom/Victim Consciousness, and has an exceptionally low rate of happiness.

At the “little r” realities of the levels of consciousness that calibrate below 150, you know you’re unhappy, but you don’t have enough energy to do anything about it.

At the level of Pride, which calibrates at 175, you have plenty of energy, but it’s all used to defend and protect your “little r” reality, which keeps you trapped in Victim Consciousness.

Anger is the only level of consciousness where you are aware that you’re unhappy and you have enough energy, drive and motivation to take action and do something about it.

Of course, in order for this to work, you have to master your anger. When most people feel angry, they react from anger, which only makes the situation worse. When you master your anger, however, you have the ability to respond from a place of power and integrity. Instead of trying to change the conditions of your “little r” reality, you expand your consciousness and tune to a different frequency.

The Anger Mastery Process teaches you how to do this.

10. You can master your anger in as little as 30 days for only $9.95.

Anger Mastery: Get Angry, Get Happy shows you the shortest path from wherever you are right now, to “Happy.”

Let me be clear though: just going to http://www.GetAngryGetHappy.com, buying a copy of Anger Mastery: Get Angry, Get Happy and reading it will not make you happy. The only way to become truly happy is to do the work and follow the Anger Mastery Process, consistently. And even though the more you do the work, the easier it gets, you’ll still have to keep doing the work for the rest of your life.

That being said, I can absolutely guarantee that anyone that does the work and follows the Anger Mastery Process for 30 days will be noticeably happier at the end of that 30-day period.
